Lt. Christopher Blair (Freddie Prinze Jr.) is a spacecraft pilot. He and his best friend, Lt. Todd “Maniac” Marshall (Matthew Lillard), have just been stationed at the edge of the their government, the Terran Confederation, territory. Their commanding flight officer is Lt. Cmdr “Angel” Devereaux (Saffron Burrows), who is hard on them but liked by all. When an alien race, the Kilrathi, attack another base, they gain control of an interstellar navigator that can lead them directly to Earth and the end of humanity. Now, it is up to this squadron to get to the rest of the fleet and warn them on time.
