France’s President De Gaulle (Adrien Cayla-Legrand) makes plenty of enemies from his fellow countrymen as he awards Algeria independence. Countless French lives have been sacrificed in the war between the two countries and a group of ex soldiers feel that they have been sold down the river by their President. They hatch a plan to have De Gaulle assassinated and need to find the right man for the job. They turn to The Jackal (Edward Fox) to exact their revenge who agrees to take on the job, but only on his terms. The Jackal insists that the band of revenge seekers do not attempt any further contact with him until the job is complete. The French security services hear of the plot and intend to hunt down The Jackal before he can accomplish his task. Calling on the help of world-wide security agencies it is vital that they find out the true identity of the would be assassin but their task proves to be more difficult than they could of imagined.
