A Tramp (Charlie Chaplin) meets her one day and falls in love with her. When she mistakes him for a duke, he does not want to disappoint her and works to provide her with the financial help she needs. Then one day, he discovers that an operation could restore the Blind Girl's sight. So, acting as if he is her benefactor, he convinces an Eccentric Millionaire (Harry Myers) to get her the surgery she needs. Through a series of mishaps, all his efforts land him in jail. There in jail, the Tramp worries that when she regains her sight she will not love him like he loves her because he is as poor as she is. |
