With the assistance of the kooky Wheely Applegate (Don Knotts), the team is reunited for a race across France. The event is scheduled to start in Paris and end in Monte Carlo. First, they have to qualify to participate. En route to the contest, two jewel thieves have stashed their plunder in the little VW Beetle’s gas tank. During the series of preliminary races, Herbie falls in love with a racy competing motor car and Douglas falls for her driver, Diane Darcy (Julie Sommers), which may make winning even less possible for the in love Love Bug. This is the third film in Disney’s “Herbie the Love Bug” franchise. |
