In this Disney classic, young Wart is alone in the world. He is an orphan and a hopeful squire, but he is happy with his task of chores in his foster home. There he has lots of duties to attend to, inside and outside the house. Then a wizard named Merlin drops in. Merlin and his owl Archimedes see great potential in this young boy. They begin to teach him all sorts of things, including how to read. They encourage him to set his 'sights on the heights'. And they slowly begin to show Wart that he is capable of anything. Along the way they run into Madame Mim, a crazy enemy of Merlin: the two fight it out in one of the most memorable Disney battle scenes. It is when all of Wart's lessons have been taught that his real name, Arthur, leads to his true purpose. He is to pull the sword from the stone in order to unite England.
