Ella (Anne Hathaway) lives in the fairytale land of Frell with her father, step-mother, and two wicked step-sisters, but Ella isn’t like other girls. Ella has a secret. When Ella was born her fairy god-mother Lucinda (Vivica A. Fox) gave her a gift, the gift of obedience. While the gift feels more like a curse to Ella she is resigned to live with it, until her step-sisters discover her secret and do their best to maker Ella Miserable. Ella, has had enough, and decides to go in search of Lucinda and ask her to take back her gift. With the help of a few magical creatures along the way and after falling for Prince Charmont (Hugh Dancy) Ella must ward off the evil intentions of others along the way before they make her do something horrible to the people she loves.
