What is "Some People Juggle Geese"?

It's a quote from Joss Whedon's defunct sci-fi/western tv show Firefly. I take it to be a positive statement about the richness of the human experience. This website is not about Firefly or Joss Whedon, nor even about the human experience per se. It's about the human experience of Lucy Day Hobor (that's me). I don't juggle geese, but hopefully you'll be interested in some of the things I do instead. Go on, click something!

10 Aug 2009: Fixed the links from my cs.princeton site to the images hosted at somepeoplejugglegeese.com that got broken when I split spjg.com off to play with WordPress. Also made a separate Quantcast tag for somepeoplejugglegeese.com. Senselessly updated a few pages on the cs.princeton site.

10 Jul 2009: Played with Illustrator and Photoshop and made a new goose image. (Still needs improvement.) Altered backgrounds.

8 Jun 2009: Added 5 movies and updated reading log. Improved the see all books list (now displays authors' names).

13 May 2009: Improved behind-the-scenes stuff. Changed the PHP code for the dynamic menu (again) so that it still recognizes where you are, in spite of changes to URL construction implemented using Apache's mod_rewrite. Also, used the menu to try to build automatic breadcrumbs and page titles.

10 May 2009: Made various improvements to the movie database.

9 May 2009: Made the goose head image into a favicon. Made various improvements to the movie database.

4 May 2009: Created and added images for MPAA movie ratings in the movie database.

18 Jan 2009: Posted two new newsletters, NL08 and NL09.

14 Jan 2009: Created a duplicate newsletter 06 with dynamic thumbnail and link creation. It looks the same, except that the photo edits have been lost. On the other hand, now you can click for full-size versions of the photos.

2 Jan 2009: Improved the interactivity of the book log. Now it's possible to browse by arbitrary date ranges. The log now also reports some summary statistics. Checked out 3 PHP books at the library the other day. Also, edited the goose photo in photoshop. Now there's a new version, and some extra grass.

24 Dec 2008: Imported book log data into a database, wrote some PHP pages to pull the data back out by year. Check out the log pages!

23 Dec 2008: Tweaked the site search settings because site search still wasn't working. Now it works!

15 Dec 2008: I changed the site search settings. As soon as Google indexes my site, site search will work. And my website will perhaps start to show up in the results of regular Google searches, whereas up to now, it's been shielded.

11 Nov 2008: I have uploaded bio and contact pages, and uploaded resume and portfolio information for my job search here in Singapore. I've also put up some newsletters in the news section.

21 Aug 2008: I've got some database features working. And I changed the color scheme. I inverted the sepia goose photo, so now I have a freaky looking goose photo, but it's better than leaving the brown one up.
